hey all i am new to blackberries i sell them for att and sprint (radioshack) and i didnt know too much about the 8350i so a customer came in with one and sold it to me for 60$ like new condition so last night i did my homework on the phone.. and i found out that the phone cant send text mesages i was reading other threads on 3 different forums and people were complaining that the phone cant send texts but these posts were back in december. so i read there was an update and i couldnt find a defenite answer if his problem was resolved

so today i downloaded the desktop manager 4.7 and i upgraded the software to 4.6.1.204 but i still havent actived the phone yet so when i do will i b able to send and recived sms without having to download from a server??

also im having a major issue with desktop manager as to syncing my music it oens up roxio for blackberries i drag all my music but theres no sync button and on my 8gb storage card it drags on their but will not show up on the phone (i formated the card first) does anybody have the same problem ith roxio???

i open the file thru my computer and open the folder and drag music and it wont show up on my phone

i serched on all these problems but sill no definite solution

You have an icon called sms & mms --> use that to send texts to anyone you want (after activating the phone of course). What was meant in some of the threads you've been reading is that technically the 8350i only does MMS, but if you do straight text (no pic sending, contacts, etc...) then the phone will communicate with sms only devices just fine (like the iphone for instance). And for music, dump roxio. Put your music on manually by plugging in the usb without DM loaded, and "open folder to view files". The phone will act as a mass storage device and you can drop your music anywhere you want. If you still insist that you need things synced across all your devices, use media player or just about anything out there EXCEPT for roxio. (You can get a copy of DM without it too). I dunno why they picked that one... it's buggy, bloated and just unfriendly.
