Also, be aware that Google Maps only works marginally well with the GPS on the 8330. This has to do with the way that Google Maps interacts with the internal GPS chip. Google Maps will get a GPS lock but has a hard time keeping a GPS lock because of how it polls.

It seems to work better if you open BBMaps first and get a satellite lock there. But it's still flakey.

Google Maps does not work using GPS on 8330m. If you read in the Google Forums on their site it says they are working on it. I just got the 8330m yesterday, now I switched to my wifes 8330 untill they figure a fix!

Default Google Maps Icon disappeared

Hey all,
Great Forum!

Has anyone had their Google Maps icon disappear recently?
The application came with my phone and I've used it extensivley for a long time.

Not sure if it's related but for about 2 hours yesterday, my BB was very slow, to the point that I shut it off. I rebooted later in the day and all seemed fine. Today I noticed that the icon is gone altogether

This icon was under the "Applications" icon, right next to my Gmail icon.

Any help is appreciated.
Cheers,

Try not to thread hijack. On your home screen hit the menu key and do a "show all" maybe it's hidden then look in all your folders.
