Default Has anyone used a charging cradle w/a skin (cut holes in back)?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8330 Curve (VZW). I keep the rubber skin on it. Still I see a little hole in the bottom.

I'm confused, I see "charging cradles" for blackberry curve, but they seem to have 2 large prongs. Is there any charging cradle I can get for mine?

right now, I keep usb cable near where I want to charge, and connect, disconnect, but dropping into a cradle and having it automatically suck juice would be more convenient.

am I out of luck?

/j

The little hole in the bottom is the microphone... not used for charging.
If your rubber skin is covering the two metal charging points on either side of the battery cover latch, then you won't be able to use it with a charging cradle. The skin would need to be removed.

Ah. I get it now. Has anyone had luck using a charging cradle with the rubber skin (with a couple of small holes cut in the back of the skin)?

Or - can anyone who has a cradle comment about whether there's enough "play" on the sides so that the rubber skin would fit?
/j

[OK - I tried to edit the thread title to reflect what this is really about. It doesn't work. So I'll start a thread with a more descriptive title.

I have the blackberry cradle. I don't think it will fit with the skin on it.

Check this out. Not sure if it only works with the the skins that Seidio sells or not.

These cradles will not work with the rubber skins. Even if you cut little holes where the charging contacts are the skin will hold the BB far enough away so they don't touch the charger.

You can get an OEM external battery charger from Amazon.com for ~$17.00.
