I have updated to 163 but with some difficulties.

1. Sync with Outlook not reliable. It used to be solid in previous versions.

2. Google sync no longer works and says not installed. It will not install either.

Any ideas?

TIA

weird... I can't install it it says that I have a newer version on my 8310.

my BB shows me: 4.5.0.153 (platform 2.7.0.105) how come that my platform version is higher than in the newest update (2.7.0.92)?

This could be the reason they pulled it.
Every time I upgrade my OS on my Curve and my Bold, this happens. It has since going from 4.2.2 to 4.5

I just did it but when I go to About it says that I have v4.5.0.110 which is the one I had. My browser also disappeared. It is in the application list but I cannot find the icon even after I unhide the hidden ones.
Nevermind I got it.

You didn't try to load the 8310 firmware onto your 8330, did you?

Angry Unspecified Error on version 4.5 instal - 08-14-2009, 03:59 PM

Guys, I tried different versions from this 4.5 version to instal on the phone and I still get this unknown error.
I read all the posts, over and over, and I don`t know what should I do..

The error appears on the "Conection to ROM" part. My XP gives me an error: 'an error occured during the instal..bla bla..you might have problems bla bla..you can kill B.G. if you want ..bla bla.." and than the process is stopped with this "unknown error: AX 000000000" ..

Any ideeas ? I tried like 10 times allready, and followed precise your advise..

I am writing under the feeling that noone is reading this forum post, but still..

After uninstal of all BB programs on my PC, followed by a restart, and reinstal of all BB programs, the upgrade worked. But now.. I can`t find on phone 3 things! : MAPS and Browser and YM. So ... yeah, OS 4.5 is really the greatest .. mistake..

OK, this thread is getting confusing. If .163 isn't available through the first link shouldn't a new link be added instead?

So, what is the latest stable OS for the 8310? Should I download .161 or .163?

.163 is by far the worst 8310 OS I ever tried
I get no radio signal every day since I installed it and I miss important calls because of that...

Going back to .124 today

i recently upgraded to os 4.5 (multilanguage) for my 8310 curve. After the upgrade, the battery now lasts longer, it now has some new applications and the system now runs smoothly. Thanks a lot for blackberry!

* File name: 8310M_PBr4.5.0_rel257_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.163_O2_UK. exe

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here:

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8310:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

For the previous OS, see this link:

Online it says you should download the desktop version and install it first...but you don't say anything about that. What did you do? I'm a little confused! Sorry!

Default Re: Latest OS for 8310 - 10-12-2009, 10:29 PM

I installed it yesterday to my curve 8310. It seems to be working fine. I had no glitches or anything. Thank you for your very easy to follow instructions.

What I want to know though, is what is the significance of the vendor xml file?

Again, thank you

Default HEELLPPP!!! My Curve 8310 Keeps Blanking OUT - 10-12-2009, 11:03 PM

I have a Curve 8310 which keeps going blank after a few minutes when talking or when using speaker phone. It has gotten so bad now that sometimes it goes blank even when scrolling through menu items.

Anybody else have this problem? Is there an explanation for this? Can it be corrected or should I consider throwing it into the garbage (not literally).

Please let me know
