Default HELP! Blackberry Browser vs Internet Browser - 06-27-2009, 06:19 PM

I have a 8350i with an everything data plan. I am unable to connect to the internet through my browser if I have it set on blackberry browser however if I switch it to internet browser that internet works fine. Is there a downside to this? It doesnt cost any extra this way does it?

The "Internet Browser" goes through your cell service provider. The "Blackberry Browser" goes through BES, if you have BES setup.

Does the everything plan include BB data? To use the BB browser, you need a properly provisioned BB data plan. Once the carrier sends the service books, the browser should appear.

This is what you get without a BB plan: How to use BlackBerry on Generic Data Plan - BlackBerryFAQ

Do you have BES? If you are only on BIS, you'll only have those 2 options and that's normal.

You're welcome though credit should also go to bvandrasik who mentioned the same thing.

Interesting...I also have the 8330 on Sprint and DO have BB Browser (tho you're not missing much imo...I generally use Opera Mini).
