Default Picture load times - 07-01-2009, 10:33 AM

I have a BB Curve 8310, about 2 months old now, and was just wondering if theres a way to speed up picture load times..I have it set now to display thumbnails of my photos, and I would like to keep it that way, but It seems like it takes awhile for them to load..I try to keep my memory card clean, and take pictures off of there that are not needed..any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

I don't think there's much you can do about -- especially if you have a lot of pics or a really big memory card.

Try organizing them into sub-folders so the BB Doesn't have to load so many at once..

Try getting a higher "class" media card.. Class 2/4/etc.. Class depicts the transfer rate.
Might be worth a shot.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

Ok yeah i will try the sub-folder suggestion. Is there a way to get the camera app to save the pics in a particular sub folder?

In the options of the camera you can set I default save path.

No matter what you do, it will still take longer than you would like. It's just not the best media device.

I can only say what I think is the best from what I've used. The iTouch works very well. The Zune works very well. Also tried Sansa, Sony and Samsung, all of which were ok, but not as good as the first two I mentioned.

Of course it comes to the big question, do you want a communication device or a media device

I'm hoping MicroSDHC cards gets a boost in performance I want to see more Class 6/8 cards there are very few.. I was gonna buy a 16 GB MicroSDHC card tonight for 49 bucks, but it was only Class 2... I don't get how they increase the size so much but not the speed.

And yes I know the class doesn't matter too much for BB's when I'm transferring my existing 8GBs of data thats a long wait..

Yeah I think I will try a higher class of MicroSD cards and see how that works..and as far as your question about wanting a communication or media device...I want a little of both! seriously, i do not want an *puke* iphone...the android might be cool...but i dont want to switch carriers
