Exclamation HELP!! .jad files???

Please Login to Remove!

my jad files that I saved to the pc are showing up as notepads. When I email them to myself they attach with .jad extension but I can't download them to my phone. How can I disassociate the files with notepad???

I had too many themes on my phone. Was advised to download to the pc and then save them to my media card and install from there when I am ready to change themes. No problem mailing them to myself and saving to media card, but when i try and install them I get a 907 Invalid COD. File not found???

thanxs

you can't install themes from just the .jad file on a storage card; you must have the associated .cod and the .alx files for the theme. The .jad file is really just a download screen more or less but what it is sending you are the .alx and .cod files for the theme. What you can do is save the original download link and email that to yourself and save the email. when you want to install the theme, open the email and click on that link, which will take you to the internet and you can download it from there. The theme developer stores the .cod and .alx files on a server somewhere, that is really what you are downloading.

#Search for "OTA loader" named computer app in google..

#For alx cod including zipped files.. U can use genjad4BB or jad generator named app for ur computer (name could be dif..) For generating jad files from cod files.. Sometimes it works sometimes doesn't..if u don't want to use DM..

Thanxs purcy for that explanation. No wonder it's not working. One more question before I go making a fool of myself. lol
Would it be unethical to email the developers to ask for the .alx and .cod files? My reason for asking is, I've seen some awesome themes out there that I love. Unfortunately there was too many and my phone's device memory couldn't handle them all. We all know what it feels like to click on a link to download a file and that file is no longer there for any given reason. This is why I am trying to figure out how to get back all the themes I had installed and had to delete. Do u think the builders would share the above files?

thanxs again

Well, personally I think it unethical to ask for someone's files, as that is their property. Read again, the post right above yours here, the poster detailed a program to search for that will capture the .cod files so you can store them on a card alond with the .jad file that it creates. Actually, OTA programs are just .cod files; .alx files are for programs installed using Desktop Manager.
