Have you done a battery pull. Sounds like the battery may have possibly even dislodged?

When you say battery pull you mean remove the battery?

Anything else? It can't be broken just like that can it? From just dropping on the floor and not breaking anything internal?

Is there damage to the connection between the battery & the device itself?

The impact may have caused damaged that will require repair.
