Default Skype IM for 8330

Please Login to Remove!

Can I use Skype (really only need the IM part) on the Blackberry Curve 8330? If so, can someone please tell me how to get it?

My online job has a Skype Chat room we use, that would enable me to work from anywhere.. I'm pretty new to this.. as you can tell..

Thanks,
R.

Please do a search and check the Aftermarket Forum. There are no SKYPE applications for the BB. There is an app called iskoot for chat I think.

There are quite a few 3rd party applications that support skype such as IM+, but they also feature many other IM services as well. Skype themselves have not yet released their own app for blackberry.

Iskoot is free. The others that I know of are not. Iskoot is not memory efficient if you have it constantly running, but with a decent level of free memory is workable.

Skype itself is (was?) in a closed beta of it's own app. Seems like it hasn't gone so well as that started in May with a limited number of people and there's be no further info since.
