T-Mobile 8320 Wi-Fi without data plan??
 

I got a 8320 from Tmobile. The main reason I upgraded to the 8320 was so I could get Internet without the data plan using wifi. I have my home wifi set up and it is showing as connected but when I go to the browser it says I cannot connect to the internet without a data plan. Is this true? My friend has the Blackberry flip and he gets internet through wifi w/out a data plan so I thought it would work. Please help if you can.

I also have a 8320 and didn't have a data plan during the first year when I had the device. Unless there's some new rule in place at Tmobile, you should be able to browse over wifi without having to get a data plan.

Check your service books to make sure you have the 2 for wifi. Also check your browser under Options>Advanced>Browser to make sure you have selected the correct one.

make sure your default browser is hotspot and not tzones

if that doesnt work, dial 611, they will set you up
