Hi, I am new to the blackberry forums and had a few questions about my blackberry 8310.

The desktop manager is very poor and does not have many features at all, other than loading and uninstalling apps. Is there any third party software that has more options. Such as accessing media, setting up ringtones, accessing email, changing themes, accessing my phone numbers, and other day to day things that would be easier to set up on my PC than on the BB.

I basically want to be able to do some of the configurations on my PC and load it to my BB, but I do not see any of these options on the desktop manager.

Also, I set up email on my blackberry. I cannot reply to any text or email messages. I get the option to reply, but after I type my reply and click my roller ball, I have no options to send. I can create an email or text from scratch and send it however. Is it possible I only have receive text and email from my carrier and not send for some reason, or would this be something on my setting on my BB,

DM isn't designed for accessing email. Email access is handled by whatever email app you use on your desktop. Same goes for accessing any data (contacts, calendar, etc). DM is not meant to be a Palm Desktop equivalent. FYI - Outlook syncs very well with the BB.

As for accessing media you can use Media Manager (if you installed it). I recommend using Mass Storage Mode.

I don't know of any app that will allow you to change themes via the PC. Selecting a theme on the BB is pretty easy.
