this is my first post in this forum and as you will notice i am a complete noob in the blackberry world
so i owna a 8130 pearl but i hate the keyboard so i want to buy a 8330 but it's from sprint if i bought it would i be able to use it in mexico with iusacell? would i need to unlock it? how is that done? and would everything work(blackberry messenger, maps,msn, etc...) thanks for ur help and if u need any help with an iphone just let me know

It looks like Iusacell is a CDMA carrier, so in theory it should work. However, I know in the US, most CDMA carriers do not allow devices other than their own on their network. For example Sprint will not allow a Verizon device on Sprint's network, and vice versa.

As far if the features such as BBM, Maps, etc would work; they would only work if Iusacell offers a BlackBerry data plan.

Your best bet would be to contact Iusacell and see if they will allow other carrier branded devices on their network.

i went to iusacell and they told me that they could activate the voice calling and text messaging but htat the datta was not guarantied and the girl who helped me told me that there are some peoples outside of iusacell that could unlock it for me so that i can use the data but how does that work?can i do it myself? and yes iusacell uses cdma tech
