I have an 8330, on Sprint. It's connected to two GMail accounts via IMAP. At night, I plug it in and set the Profile to "Phone Only." Normally, I'd wake up and have a bunch of emails waiting for me. This has been working since sometime last fall without a problem.

Starting yesterday, there were none - which is highly unusual. Immediately after SENDING a text message, I had a dozen emails show up, all with the same timestamp. This behavior repeated today. Once that initial "dump" happens, it seems to "remember" that it's supposed to be checking, as email and text messages are appearing normally.

I've gone through all the settings pages I can fine - inside the Inbox, from the Options screen, online at Sprint - and can't find any place that says "blackout messaging during these periods" or anything related to suspending message checking.

This is a BlackBerry Curve 8330, running v4.5.0.131 of the BlackBerry OS. It's very spare in terms of anything else that might be interfering, and nothing has been added to it in several weeks (and it was working until yesterday). It's been a really solid device ever since I got it, so this is really unexpected. Thanks in advance for any help anyone's able to provide.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'd done that, and the problem happened again last night. (Although, I should ask, does the QuickPull application REALLY do the same thing? Being a WinMo refugee, the first thing I looked for when I switched to BlackBerry was something that did a "reset" without pulling the cover and battery...)

How is the cell signal at your house? More importantly, how is it in the spot where you charge your phone?

Sounds like it could be a weak signal in that spot, then when you send a txt it forces/re-establishes connection to the cell network again.

Just thoughts...
