paroxysym - how much free memory is on the device (not the media card). I believe you are running out of memory. When that happens, messages get deleted.

options / status will tell you how much free memory is left on the device.

The media card and your device memory are 2 separate things. Adding a media card does not increase device memory. Make sure you're storing photos/music/ringtones/videos/etc on the media card. Also make sure that you camera is set to store photos on the media car by default. If you have any media files in device memory then move them to the media card.

Also what OS are you running?

Might be worth upgrading to the latest upgrade.
