Hey Everyone...
Let me start by saying I have read the FAQ and searched the other posts quite a few times now... I am going to make this long so I can be as detailed as possible to help anyone answering or reading this in the future...

On Saturday around 1 pm my phone fell in the toilet while on a speaker phone call. I turned it off right away and took the battery out and dried it by hand. I left it for 2 hours and then tried to turn it back on. It loaded but wasn't working 100%. It kept typing * and # and I couldnt get it to stop. Then I put it in a bowl with Rice and left it for a day.

Sunday Morning around 9 am I tried the phone again. It powered up and looked fine and was beeping and vibrating as I received a bunch of messages. I used my trackball to open BB msgner from my main screen and even started typing a msg to a friend. Then the screen turned black and I couldnt turn the backlight back on. I pluged it in to charge and it came on but none of the buttons were working including the power button.

I removed the battery again back into the rice and left it till about 1 pm. Then I tried again and it powered up and kept typing * again and it even dialed a call on its own. But again none of the key pad or track ball. Back into the rice....

This morning (Monday 8am) the phone powers up and the screen and everything looks fine. The keypad wont work at all. The trackball with scroll only if I plug the phone into the charger and use it to refresh the backlight. But I can't click on anything or use any buttons... But I have put it back in rice and am still waiting as I know it hasn't been fully 3 - 5 days

Soo.. Here are my questions..

1) Has anyone had this specific issue with water damage? Did your phone ever recover?

2) I haven't taken the phone apart. Should I? Will it help taking the keypad? How hard is that to do?

3) my phone is sitting in a sealed tupperware tub of rice but all along I didn't submerge my phone in rice but just rested my phone with the back and battery taken off on top of the rice. Should I submerge? I put it on top of a freezer yesterday afternoon (warm)...

4) is there any chance my phone will be okay?

Submerging it would be the best bet-give that a try, but it may be too late. If water reached the main board inside the device, it's probably not recoverable.
