It may be an issue with your SIM card. Do you have another SIM card you could try?

Is this a new BlackBerry?
Have you contacted the carrier?

You never answered my questions about where the phone came from.

It sounds to me like the phone has been barred - marked as stolen or lost. Any possibility of that?

my 8320 does the same thing a couple of times a day...very frustrating. I think it might have started after the nes OS upgrade

It might also have been after I dropped it. Can the antenna have been broken by the drop?

Possibly. That's good information to have. You dropped it and now it doesn't work

i'm not sure if it started after the update or drop ;o(

is there any way to test the antenna? Most of the time I have good signal strenght but suddenly it just falls out and goes to "sos"....

I will try with another carrier sim card just to see if my carrier has problems.

Try another carrier sim (that will only work if the device is unlocked) or try your sim in another phone. If that phone works fine, chances are the problem is your device and/or antenna.

treid another carrier sim and so far no fall out. the strange thing is that my normal carrier is actually using the other carriers network for blackberry (e.g. I'm always roaming)
