Hi, let me give you all the details.
I am running windows vista with desktop manager 4.5 ( i also tried 4.7 ).
my phone is a 8320 curve, when i plug it into my pc it starts to charge so the USB cord is GOOD.
but windows won't recognize the phone, i dunno whats the problem.

I also have a 8310 curve and my pc detects that phone, but not my other 8320.

the phone charges when it plugs in, so it should be picked up my windows no?

Are you plugging directly into the computer or via a USB Hubs, hubs don't work too well.

it's directly plugged in and i tried all USB ports. it detects my curve 8310, but it's not detecting this 8320. but when i plug it in, it charges the phone.

Assuming the phone has a media card -- is Mass Media Mode enabled?

Ok, it just comes up as unknown device. and i tried all blackberry usb drivers etc..

I am just beginning to think the usb part of the blackberry itself is BAD, but then how the heck is it charging when i plug it into my PC???? no clue.........................

can you update OS via bluetooth connectivity on DM or "loader"? I am going to borrow a friends laptop and see if it connects via bluetooth.

Does you PC see any USB thumb drives like normal?

USB Driver could be corrupt with Vista,

Or you can try re-installing the desktop manager and right click the install file and choose "Run As Administrator"

I had the same problem with my brand new 8330 and I used a needle to move the gold pin connectors on the charger port on the phone and now mine connects fine. If im not mistaken, they should all be lined up in a row. It was also giving trouble charging until I did this and that is not a problem anymore also. Try this and I hope it works for ya!
