I have an 8330 and I know I can install beta's etc. that are higher but wanted to wait for the carrier to approve an OS upgrade. It's been 10 months since they've approved an upgrade. I guess they're spending more time on pushing the new Tour and not concentrating on the older models.

Anyway, more of a gripe than a question here!

What's wrong with 4.5.0.77 that makes you so anxious for an upgrade?

There are several other builds you can use. OS is NOT carrier specific. Just delete the vendor.xml file from your PC just before you hook phone to DM

I want to use a 16GB micoSDHC card and apparently you need to have v.4.5.081 or higher for it to be recognized. I currently have an 8GB card with v.4.5.077 and it works fine but I need more room and can't use a 16GB card with this version. I've held back from upgrading to non-carrier approved OS's because I've read about so many people having too many issues with the later versions. Other than that, I've been pretty happy with v.4.5.077.

Go to top of this forum and load the latest build. Again, look at what I wrote about vendor.xml file

Try using Sprint's .131, I hear it works very well on VZW Curves.

Verizon just posted 4.5.0.138 today.

Great timing! Thanks! I just upgraded last night and ordered the 16GB card. Guess I won't complain again until I need 32GB which requires v.4.6.x.x+ but who knows if Verizon will release it for the 8330 or just drop the unit as new ones come out from RIM.

where did you get the upgrade?? I tried doing the vender route and I couldn't... I also want a 16gb card kid pics what not. i have a 2gb right now and bam its full, only had the phone for a few days.

Don't assume that you won't have problems just because VZW approves the OS release you're looking for. Every release linked here was approved by a carrier. If you need/want to update then do it. Carrier approval doesn't really mean much.

I synced my BB with the Desktop Manager and it found the OS upgrade. It asked me if I wanted to install the upgrade. I installed it.

I sync my BB weekly and it has never found an OS upgrade until this week. Somehow the DM knows when your carrier approves the latest OS.
