Default Moving addressbook to computer?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to move the addressbook file(s) from an 8300 to a computer for backup?

A friend lost hers previously & wants to backup to her computer if possible.

Thanks

Desktop Manager will back up everything. It will also synchronize the address book to Outlook.

Download here:
BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop Software - BlackBerry Software at BlackBerry.com

She doesn't use outlook or any formatted addressbook programs because she got phished a couple of years ago & everybody in her addressbook got a bunch of porn garbage from her address.

I guess I could install outlook, download her phone files, export them to a word file & encrypt outlook so that it would not activate unless it was unlocked.

Is outlook the only way to download the addressbook?

Use BlackBerry Desktop Manager to back up the data. Then get ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter software on your computer to open, read, and convert the IPD file created by the backup.

Or sync with the ASCII Importer/Exporter (it's an option in the sync settings).

Your friend should definitely be performing regular backups as well.
