I am very close to buying a verizon 8330 curve the only problem is the seller doesnt have the charger, and verizon wants $30.00 for one. so my question is, is there anywhere else that sells the OEM charger or one that works, for less than $30?

i would also appreciate if you guys could inform me a little bit about the curve i.e. issues, or things i will need to look out for. thank you in advance!

I think you can use almost any other USB cell phone charger. I've heard of people using Motorola chargers with no issues. Additionally your purchase might also include a USB cable to connect your device to your computer. You can also charge up your device this way (uses the power from the computer to charge the battery).

In general most of the issues you'll have will be from the person you are buying the device from. I'm not too familiar with the process so hopefully someone with more experience can chime in on what to look out for.

thanks for the replies, i ended up buying a curve off ebay, my only question is that in the description it said like ESN: and then hada string of numbers. what is an ESN? and will i still be able to use it even if the ESN is not clear? PLEASE HELP!

ESN is for CDMA phones and you can think of it as a unique serial number for that particular device. It's similar to IMEI for GSM phones. The ESN is not supposed to be clear.

^^ Yes you want a clear ESN> That means that there are no billing issues withthe phone or that it isn't on the lost/stolen list and can't be activated.You can call *611 and have them check that number and they can tell you if its clear or not

Ah ok thanks for the clarification. Thought a clear ESN meant it wasn't a legit device.
