Default 8330 Virus?

Please Login to Remove!

I was wondering if there is a way to check if I'm infected with a virus or have a BHO keylogger on the browser. I've never done forensics with a BB before.

Wirelessly posted

From what I understand, Berries can't get viruses.

I would say they could. But like trying to find hacked software for it people just are not interested in doing it. So I would say it is possible but I don't think it will happen any time soon.

Instead of guessing and speculating, why not use the "search" feature to see many of the other threads out there about viruses.

And since BlackBerrys don't run IE, BHO (Browser Help Object) exploits aren't happening.

Pretty sure I have one too on my 8330 - it's started constantly uploading & downloading from the network and it's killing the battery life. The send/receive arrows are constantly on and I have to disable the network connection to stop it.

There are no viruses or worms for the BlackBerry.
You don't have a virus.

What programs do you have installed?
What programs are ACTIVE on the BlackBerry right now?

As NJ already stated (and I'm just here for backup), there hasn't ever been a virus on a BlackBerry. If/when there is one, it will make front page news.

That being said, there are applications that can be put on them that are spyware, but that requires someone to get their hands on your device and install the application.

Chances are you have some sort of program running that's data intensive. Or if your signal is poor, the phone is trying to maintain a connection. That is a huge battery killer too.

Might also want to take a look at this: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...r-malware.html
