Default PIM Replacement

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone!

This is (as you can see) my first post here. I've used smartphone for years and been very involved with PalmOS & WM but this is my first BB. So far so good! I have several new themes and software thanks to trolling here for a while but now I have a question: Is anyone using a PIM replacement? With other platforms I have used Agendus, PocketBreeze, Beyond Contacts, etc but before I leap with this OS I figured I would ask around for the more popular ones out there.

Thanks in advance for the help, I'm sure we'll be talking a lot more as I dive further into the world of BlackBerry!

There are not many true and good PIM replacement apps for the BlackBerry. Since the native OS apps (address book, calendar, etc) interact with each other so well, they are mostly preferred.

That said, check out PocketDay, POcket Informant and Agendus.

My vote is for Pocket Informant. Been a long time fan since back in the old days on Windows Mobile. The BB version is coming along nicely. Only thing missing for me is a hotkey to launch the app from the main screen, similar to the 'L' key that the built-in calendar uses. The closest thing to fixing the missing hotkey capability for me has been achieved with a $5 app named Quicklaunch. Can't live without it.

Also, the hierarchical tasks view in Pocket Informant is a great improvement over the default BB tasks app.
