Default Configuring media card BB 8310

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everybody,

I have seen that this problem is posted already but I didn't find the right solution to my problem. I bought media card 2 GB SD to my BB 8310.

I put all my pictures and ringtones there, but at Option->Media Card it says: Total Space 1.8 GB, Free Space 1.8 GB, whcih I don't understand because I have put all my media files at the SD. It cannot be the same size. While if keep making pictures, after while a start to loose messages, sms, calll logs etc. Media Card Support is On, Mass storage is ON, Auto Enable is Yes. So what can I do to make use if this Media Card for my media files, without touching the internal memory of BB?

Thank you
Toni

It's hard to say because your pictures and ringtones might be very small size wise. That's probably why it's still saying 1.8GB. However, the best way to be sure is to see if you can access those files on your media card. You can do so via the media player. If you go to pictures you should be able to see the pictures loaded on your card.

Otherwise I'm not quite understanding what your question is.

Hi Trimix,

you might be right because my files are not that big size yet, but I was not totally sure that if I put a lot of media files on my SD this will absolutely not influence the internal memory. I suffered once form loosing the sms, emails call logs, etc so I was too careful with adding media files .

Thank you for you for your reply though

That's current. Your device (internal) memory is separate from the memory on your microSD card. Loosing sms/emails/etc. is a result of low device memory.
