Default Confusion about OS

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all

I just got a curve 8310 from the states (AT&T) and i unlocked it in Europe and it works great- its actually freaking amazing

I have a couple of questions im sure you guys can help me

1) my OS information says the following

Blackberry 8310 smartphone (EDGE)
v4.2.2.170 Platform 2.5.0.30

Can i upgrade it from the link that you have on the main page?

Latest OS: 8310 4.5.0.257/4.5.0.163 (Multilanguage)

2) will it be blocked again?

thank you guys

Welcome - one you unlock a BlackBerry, updating the software on it will not lock it. Once unlocked, always unlocked.

Good luck.

To answer your first question, yes you can upgrade it to the OS you saw on the main page. Just be sure to follow the directions.

Can't speak for NJBlackBerry but I think it was just good timing. Please I don't really have a life haha.

As for the link, just click the link that's in the first post, select 8310 for device, and just click the first file unless you need some other language aside from English (in which case go for the second link).

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

You can make font changes under Options>Screen/keyboard. If that doesn't work the font you see might be themed controlled -- which you can't do too much about to change.
