Default OS: 8330m 4.5.0.281/4.5.0.169 (MEID Devices)

Please Login to Remove!

This will load on ANY carrier's 8330m by following the instructions below.
This is only for the 8330m model
(MEID based models)

Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8330m smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.281 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.281
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.169
* Software Platform: 3.4.0.51
* File name: 8330mAMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel281_PL3.4.0.51_A4.5.0.169_Ce llular_South.exe
* File size: 83.17MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...C9D4DB0C6BBE45

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

For the previous OS, see this link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...d-devices.html

How to determine if you have an ESN or MEID based device.
From the main menu, select Options, then select Status.
ESN devices - On the Status screen you will see ESN on the display
MEID devices – On the Status screen you will see MEID on the display.
NOTE – You cannot install ESN-based software on a MEID device, nor can you install MEID-based software on an ESN device. They are NOT interchangeable.

Default Latest OS: 8330m 4.5.0.281/4.5.0.169 (MEID Devices)

I had the update run on my BB via the desktop manager. All went well, except that now my e-mail is taking up to 1 1/2 - 2 hours to be received on my BB from when the sender sent it. Is there something I need to do to speed this up? I vaguely remember a message about my e-mail when the update was happening, but I did not catch what the message said completely before it moved on. Help!!

Been running this on a Sprint 8330m for a few weeks, it's a good solid OS.

I had trouble with this on my new Sprint 8330m. PodTrapper and the BB Media Player would often refuse to play mp3 files, requiring rebooting several times a day. Even worse, this also caused ringtones to not play, missing calls. I loaded the last official Sprint version (4.5.0.188/4.5.0.131) and all is well now.

Default Why isn't the OS changing in the About section?

after clicking the Loader.exe , i never got a white screen for 20minutes after the wait, and the install wasn't 45min. long. i think something went wrong or I did something wrong after deleting the Vendor.xml ..i clicked next and then it backed up and restored data after connecting to the device and then poof it was done without no "initialization" screen.

Can anyone give me a reason why I should upgrade? What is different about 4.5.0.281 that my current version doesn't support?
