If wifi is turned on, most apps will default to wifi instead of edge. I know that with certain apps though, you have to select the type of connection: auto, wifi, edge, etc.

From what I understand, if you are connected to wifi, the device default to using that instead of edge. As far as I know there's not setting that you can set so that it tells the device to use wifi over edge or the other way around.

Default wifi issue

let me explain what is going on exactly.. the company bought it from mtn enterprises and this one was on promotion from mtn ..so they configure it to work on mtn line and they open the bb software..then becoz i am traveling and i want to use lebanese line on it i send it back to mtn and they unlock it for me ...and i check it back that is was unlock.. but they didn't reset it or i donno what...they only unlock it and deleted the account with the bb..
so i was trying to use the wifi at home as i was using it with nokia ..i connect to wifi and if i open the manage connection i see that mobile network is on and has a green ball...the wifi is on and has a yellow ball....
so i went to the browser and i set the configuration of the browser on the hotspot browser so it start connecting from the wifi...and then i know some applications i used to use them on nokia by connecting to wifi.and gprs...so i download it the software ask you about the brand of your phone i writte down bb 8320 ..and i download it
so when i wanted to open the app..it show that it is doing testing for connection and said connection failed check ur internet os something like that ... my blackberry is connected to wifi becoz the browser is searching normally from wifi but when i download app they connect through gprs
i think i will through it from the window and quit my job :P
anybody helpe me to use the wifi in those application

Some applications will not work over wifi and might require a BlackBerry data plan.

It's the same app? There's a chance the app wasn't designed to work with BlackBerries.

1. Connect device to computer via USB cable.
2. Open Desktop Manager
3. Go to Application Loader
4. Click next (DM will look for programs that you currently have on your device).
5. Click Add and select the program (in this case theme) that you want to add.
