I have searched the net for a similar problem and can't find one

My desktop locked up, so I did a reboot. When it came back it loaded my wallpaper and icons and the overlay screen that says, "Verifying Security Software... 100% Security Test Passed" But that overlay just stays there and I can't do anything. I've done the battery pull 30 sec wait and it loads up to the same thing.

I have done the double soft reboot and it doesn't get stuck at the Verifying Security part. I get a normal looking desktop, but it's locked up and I still can't do anything with it.

I pulled my media card out, replaced the battery and booted and it was fine, but when I replaced the media card it does the same thing locking up at boot.

Any ideas?

Your media card is corrupt; use a PC to either try to fix the error, or back up the data and reformat it.

Sounds like a corrupt media card.

I am guessing I need another device to format my card? Or is there a way for me to format it using my phone even though it's acting up?

If you get a micro sd reader, you can do it with a PC. Or some combo of sd card adapter and some kind of reader.
