Default Issue w/ Facebook notifications through Gmail

Please Login to Remove!

I've looked through similar threads, but can't seem to find my specific answer.
I have the FB application downloaded to my Curve - and as far as I know, it's the most current version. The email I use for FB notifications is my gmail. I had my gmail account setup through my Blackberry and received FB notifications on my FB app and email - everything worked fine.

I recently downloaded the Gmail application and deleted my gmail through blackberry. The gmail app works great and I receive the FB notifications there, but I do not receive the notifications to my FB application now. I'm pretty sure it's related to the new Gmail app, but have no clue what to do! I've checked FB, and they have nothing that helps.

I'm debating on deleting the Gmail app and just going back to signing in my gmail through blackberry - I feel like this should be an easy fix though! Any help is appreciated!!

I think a requirement of the FaceBook is App is you need the email account associated with FB added in your BIS Acct/ Service Books

The way the FB app works is, as an email from FB comes through your BIS (push email) the FB app intercepts it, putting it in its Notification section.

So you're gonna have to get rid of the gmail app and put gmail back on BIS for push email to get the notifications in the FB app.

Or maybe add the account to BIS and set up your filters to only allow FB notifications through if you still want to only use the gmail app.

I use both, and it works great. I keep the gmail app there, but only to actually go into my account and delete emails, check contacts, etc.

I also use gmail through the BB Email Setup. That's where I actually see my notifications of new emails and such.

I turned off the GMail App's notifications, so only the BB Gmail notifies me.

And my facebook works!

Okay, that's what I figured. Thanks for the responses - I was hoping there was a way around it.

Read my reply above. You can add your gmail account to BIS and only allow Facebook notifications through to allow the FB app to work.

Oh, sorry Takeshi - you had said 'maybe' so I didn't know if that was a definite way around it!
