Default Media card problem

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a Curve 8300 and have been trying to load my mp3 files into the media center. I have a 16 GB mini SD card and only 3.98 GB of mp3 files. I do not have other media (pictures, videos, etc.) loaded onto the media card. It was reformatted when I transferred it into my BB. When I check the properties in My Computer when my BB is connected it shows only 2.82 total space available.

When I connect to the Desktop Manager and click Media Manager, the Device Memory shows 15.0 MB Total Size, 10.86 MB Free Space, and a file size limit of 3.00 MB. I am able to transfer about 3 MB of mp3 files, but no more.

I have gone through BB 101, I have browsed the forums and FAQ. I have called friends who have a BB. I consider myself technologically sound.

I suppose my question is whether or not I am able to find the alleged free space on my media card; or whether I can increase the File Size Limit from 3 MB.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

What OS version are you running? That is what determines how large of a card the device can support. I am guessing that you are running 4.2 - Please see the link below:

Good Luck!
