Default Latest OS: 8320 4.5.0.294/4.5.0.174 (Multilanguage) - 10-12-2009, 11:49 AM

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.294 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.294
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.5.0.174
  • Software Platform: 2.7.0.105
  • File name: 8320M_PBr4.5.0_rel294_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.174_.exe
  • File size: 92.43MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...F22A6C2A830A17

This download will work on ANY carrier's 8320 model BB. (Not 8300, 8310, 8330, or 8350i)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Upgraded, so far no issues. This upgrade may have come along just in time. All of the sudden my phone started having some really bad call connection issues out of nowhere. It seems to be working much better now.

upgraded my 8320 since last Thursday and everything was running smooth. however, i changed the company SIM card onto my Curve this weekend, (i got bored with my old TyTn), synced everything with Outlook without a hitch.
the thing is now, when i try calling somebody the phone just keeps adding "+" before every single number when i press the call button, and as such all outgoing calls fail unless i go and type the number by memory, which is kinda hard when you have a 200+ contact list.

also, two things i would like to know if can be changed:

1-set the voice calling language to Portuguese

2-i have the typing language selected to Portuguese but when writing messages i still can't get it to write special characters like ã,ê,Í,õ,ú and ç

is there any way around this or should i just return to WinMo?

For the + issue, check smart dialing.

Phone (green) key > Blackberry Key > Options > Smart Dialing

Then set the appropriate country code and other info.
