Default What the crap? - 10-17-2009, 12:03 PM

So I got done with work this morning to find that a good majority of my buttons were inputing something different than what i was typing? For example when I clicked down on the trackball it corresponded to a "qa" being typed into my phone. Hitting the L button resulted in "tg". This happened with several other buttons. Including my delete button. I tried pulling the battery (twice). Tried turning it off and on (twice). There was nothing I could do to fix it. Then out of no where it started working as it should, and in the moment of my celebration I came to realize that It was back to being stupid....great. Then just as I was starting to type this out it started working again, and for the time being it is still working properly.

Any insight to my problem?

Sounds like moisture damage on the keyboard.

Sweaty pocket? Wet hands? Wet hair? High humidity environment? Steamy bathroom? Heavy dew?

Check inside the battery compartment - are the water damage indicators red?

Don't know exactly where the water damage indicators are, but I don't see anything red in the battery department. Keyboard moisture might be a problem. I was washing trays all for most of the day. Is it fixable if that is indeed the problem.

Once you have turned it back on (with moisture) the problem just gets worse.

Go to BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ and scroll to almost the bottom for a link on what to do with a wet BlackBerry.

Good luck.

A good idea will be to place it in dry uncooked rice for 3day-5days.. Will speed up the whole process of drying..
