Question 8330 E-mail gets stuck..

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user that has been experiencing a problem with his Blackberry, model 8330:

Network Type: CDMA
BlackBerry Device Model: 8330m

Platform Version: 3.4.0.30
BlackBerry Version: 4.5.0.138
Screen Language: en_US

Carrier: US Cellular
BES Server for E-mail.

What happens is in sending an e-mail, it sits in his inbox with a clock and just sits there. It doesn't matter if he has full strength on his connection or not. The delivery options are set to immediate and to keep a copy and wireless sync both the BB and Exchange, but the mailbox wins if there is a conflict.

A temporary fix is to turn off the wireless connection and turn it back on. Any thoughts? It works for a little bit and then stops. This was just an upgraded BB and he had no other issues with the previous one.

Thanks.

When did this problem start occurring? There were a decent sized outage affecting CDMA carriers yesterday.

Not sure at this point if it's the user's account, the BES, or the device.

Any other users experincing the same type of issue, same model or different?

Would it be possible to wipe the device and activate it with a test account (or another user who doesn't have BB, just for testing purposes) to see if the device acts the same way? If the same thing happens, then it's the device.

You could also try upgrading the OS on the device. I think the latest for the 8330 is .175.

So far the issue is just with this user. I have a few others with the 8330 and some with older models, 8703e. This user has had this particular BlackBerry for a couple of months now.

Thanks, I did check for updates from the device and was wondering about the OS/Firmware. I'll take a look at the latest version.

Thanks.

Yes, it is in caps, so the data should be working if I understand the difference between the lower and upper case.
