Default SMS messages slow to send

Please Login to Remove!

When I first got my 8330 a couple of months ago, I could send sms messages out fairly quickly meaning the time between when I hit send and when they leave my device was almost instantanious. Now at times there can be 5 to 10 seconds between when I hit send and when the message leaves the device.

FYI:

1. I have tried a battery pull...that does not seem to have an effect on it
2. I have SMS set up so that it deletes messages after 15 days
3. I do not have any apps running in the background other then the normal ones ie: BBM, facebook et al

Anybody else experience this and rectify it? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am new to this and am finding this forum great for helping me out

Is this happening to a few particular contacts that you SMS more so than others?

If so, reply to an SMS from that contact, press the Menu Key and select Remove History. Then send your reply. See if that speeds things up a bit.

You can set how many items are in history. I set mine to 30 once an my entire inbox got very slow. Set it back to ten and haven't had a problem since.

I'm new at this...how do you set the number of days before deleting messages, and the number held in history??

Number of days stored:

Messages > Options > General Options > Keep Messages = ???

# of previous SMS messages:

Options > SMS Texts > Number of Previous Items = ???
