Default My blackberry and me

Please Login to Remove!

My 8300 is my first Blackberry. I got tired of not having a QWERTY keyboard and the general unreliability of my LG Chocolate. I picked up a Curve 8300 and was playing around with it. All was well until today I decided to update it to the latest firmware. I started the update and left, returning home about 6 hours later.

The first thing I notice is a message on my PC telling me that it didn't successfully backup my data and how I could do so. This whole time I notice my Blackberry shut off for no apparent reason and then go back on. I backup the data back onto my Blackberry and copy a theme or two and then I go into the settings to allow it to connect to my network and I change to another theme.

Now things go haywire. The Blackberry resets every few minutes and the battery meter in the top corner is empty (even though its plugged in). I tried plugging it into the wall to charge it, but it still turns off and back on for no apparent reason. There were no interruptions in the installation as far as I know (I don't have my computer set to hibernate or autoscan for viruses, etc.). If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

I run Windows 7 beta build 7137 and this is my first upgrade to the phone. I didn't install any third party applications or anything that I would see as being a problem but then again this is my first Blackberry.

Wipe with Jl_cmdr and then reload the OS, preferably the OS on the CD that came with your device.

I hope you have a good back up as well.

Thank you, sorry, I should have checked the FAQ first.

EDIT: It isnt working for me at all. It simply doesnt connect. I have the latest versions of the two apps it asked for, I deleted the vendor file, my computer finds it when I use command prompt and run the app loader but after I type in blackberry and press enter it stays on the next screen for a fraction of a second and then its gone.
