Have a brand new Curve 8330, and the manual says to press the "w" key to dial phone mail. It does not work. All I get is a popup which asks if I want to assign the key to a certain phone number. Called Sprint, and they were no help. Since there is no phone mail icon, how do I call into it? Thanks, in advance.

you call your own number, on your own cell phone.
this puts you through to voicemail.

You don't simply press the 'w' key... you need to hold it down for about 2-3 seconds.
(It's actually the #1 key you are pressing. Holding down #1 will dial voicemail on most mobile devices.)

Holding down the "1" key does not lead to voice mail. It simply gives me a window asking if I want to assign a speed dial number to the key.

Go to Phone > Menu > Options > Voice Mail and make sure your number is set up there.
