my wife got a blackberry for work. they use bes.

the put almost 12,000 contacts on her phone and now it runs soooo slow.

i wanted to transfer her contacts to the 32mb micro-sd card. is this possible?

There is no way to store contacts on the memory card.

If she's on a BES, that means her device is syncing with her mail client (i.e., Outlook). Unless there is some corporate policy that requires her to have all those contacts on her device, she could go into her mail client/account and delete the ones she won't ever use (and she can use the 'Lookup' function to find people if she needs them later).

Once she deletes them from her account, the deletion *should* sync to her device (unless the BES Admin turned that off, which would be, IMO, stupid).

is there a way to organize the contacts? like have a personal address book and a business one?

With BES 5.0 (and OS 5.0, I believe) you can have 2 groups of contacts.

Otherwise, you can set categories on the contacts for 'Business' or 'Personal'.

and im sure i would have to go through each individual contact and set the category?

Yep. But I would recommend first getting rid of those that she doesn't use from her mail client (easier then on the BlackBerry). Then you won't have so many to categorize.

Why did they do this? What are these contacts?
