...since I got my first BB. Still have the same 8310 and I must say, out of all the different phones I have used over the years, nothing compares to this. I still think of it as almost like walking around with a PC in your pocket. And the phone itself works better than any other I have ever used. I am still very impressed with this nifty little device.

I do wonder about the one issue that I raised a question about last year when I went from 4.2 to 4.5 software and the noticeable decrease in ringer volume. I have tried various ring-tones and settings but I work in a busy shop environment and when I first bought this thing, you could hear it ring all the way across the shop. But ever since the update to 4.5 software, I have to be within sight of the phone to hear it. Not a real biggy but more a minor inconvenience. Just wondering.

Have you updated the OS yet again since then?

I think you should, to the latest version stickied at the top of this 83xx section.

Actually, I haven't. I'm still on 4.5.0.110 because I haven't read anything that says there are real benefits such as addition function. I hate to update just for the sake of having the latest OS when the thing is working so well. Did you hear of some help in the volume issue?
