I have my calendar option set to keep entries forever. When I synched tonight, the Desktop Manager wanted to delete past entrie; I had several new appointemnts I had to enter so I was "forced" to delete them. How can I stop this? I would like to keep them until I chose to delete.

Check your Desktop Manager settings. I use DM 4.2.2, which might be a bit older, but it should be roughly the same.

Synchronize>Configuration>Configure synch>select calendar> go to Configure with the drop down menu > Advanced settings > Date Range
