What OS on the PC?

What version of DM?

Ensure that you are plugged directly into the PC, not connected via a HUB.

Turn off your anti-virus.

If it still doesn't recognize the BB, disconnect and reboot. You can also try a battery pull on the BB.

Ad just a bit of advice, a more descriptive title also helps. Just saying "Please help" is not very descriptive. We see that all the time.

I am running windows xp on my laptop, and just updated DM to 5.0. I have tried syncing it when all fire walls are turned off, i am pluged right into usb not a router. Could not sync with 4.7 version either, I hope i can get this worked out since this was a big reason for me buying this phone. DM reconizes the phone being connected.

Try this:

Go into IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options. Go to the Content Tab and hit Clear SSL State. After hitting OK, go to the Advanced tab and go down to the Security section. Make sure the following are unchecked:

Check for publisher's certificate revocation
Check for server certificate revocation

Hit Apply then OK. Reboot your computer and you should be able to synchronize.

Do you have a BB data plan activated on the device?
