Default Blackberry 8310 Screen stays lit sometimes, drains battery - 11-06-2009, 04:55 PM

Hi

Sometimes the screen/keyboard will remain lit, and if I don't notice it in time will drain my battery within half an hour (maybe 1 hour?)...

I know pulling the battery fixes, as I have seen others post...but is this the only fix? Have many people experienced it? This is very bad, I can't afford to have my BB in the holster and not realize it is on.

* Note it happens when out of holster, but have no idea if it happens in.

This is completely Random, and sometimes doesn't happen for a couple of weeks.

BB info....( I've checked for updates and there are none)

8310 Edge
v4.5.0.81 (Platform 2.7.0.78)Thanks for you input...

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

What's your setting for backlight timeout (Options>Screen/keyboard)?

Also when the device is in a holster, chances are the device is put into standby (keyboard and screen should be inactive).

I would try a battery pull to see if this resolves your issues. Battery pull isn't a bad thing, sometimes its quite a common maintenance procedure.

Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
