Default Uh Oh...Blackberry 8310 rebuild gone wrong...(Pictures too) - 11-07-2009, 11:00 PM

Well I bought a new keyboard, trackpad, rubber sides, and housing.

Everything went smoothly in the installation process of the parts, or so I thought...except for a screw that broke, and lodged itself in my new housing. That is why there is a huge gap in between the housing and the main board near the top.

The glass screen cover is also "popping" out, but the company I bought it from gave my a taped cutout that looks like its supposed to go around the screen. Is it?

Also the antenna cover is completely uneven with the rest of the housing, and the button that is supposed to release the battery compartment is now completely useless.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO FIX EVERYTHING?

I already bought a new new housing on eBay, but should I buy a whole new main board?

HELP OR COMMENTS PLEASE!!

It looks like the housing they sent you is just made poorly. Where did you get it?
Likely a new housing will get you back to good shape, providing nothing got 'tweaked' too badly.

I would start by cutting that hang nail off.

I bought it off of eBay...it came from Hong Kong. The one I just bought was from America and it was a little more expensive. Hopefully it will be better.

Ya that could work, but it would still be loose.

Well the new housing shipped today. I also talked to FonLogix and they are sending me replacement parts since they messed up my order. (The back key is super scratched up, and they sent me two identical rubber sides so I had to use one of my old ones.)

However like I mentioned before I have a screw lodged in my housing. What is the best (cheapest) place to get blackberry screws? I just need the kind that is on the top section of the device.

Thanks.

Please...anyone? The cheapest place I've found is $1.99 with $4.99 shipping....Is there a better place?
