Are they getting a 5.0 Os upgrade?










Being how I can't seem to find an answer to this I thought I'd take a shot at it.

Probably not. I believe 5.0 is only being officially released for devices with greater than 64mb of internal memory.

That's what I heard awhile back, but I was crossing my fingers and kind of turning my head hoping I didn't hear it.
Would of been nice to upgrade my little brothers phone. haha

Simple answer: No, they will not upgrade to 5.0

Reason: 5.0 requirements state that the device memory must be higher than 64 mB. The only 83XX devices to meet that criteria are 8330 and 8350.

has 5 installed on 8330. and trust me. it takes every bit of 64megs and then some. doesn't leave a ton of room left for 3rd party apps. had to leave off all the goodies just to leave myself some extra room. no bb messenger, no brickbreaker, and some other things i never used anyways.

Note that the 8330 has 96mb and the 8300/10/20 have 64mb.
