Having trouble please help
I'm having a little trouble. I am trying to downgrade my OS from 4.5 to I usd jl_cmder to remove the os and I am now at the 507 screen. I downloaded the 4.3 Alltel OS from the BB website and installed it on my pc. I go in to the app loader folder and delete the vendor.mxl file. I start the loader and it detects my blackberry just fine. But then comes the screen that says it is reading my device service info. It goes through that process and then shoots to the next screen and says it doesn't have any software for the device I have connected. I'm stumped. I checked to make sure that the Alltel 4.3 OS was installed on the pc and it was (even uninstalled and reinstalled). If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it. And just so you know I am using Blackberry Desktop 4.6 with an Alltel Blackberry Curve 8330.

Why'd you delete the vendor.xml ? Don't do that.
Also, your profile says you have an 8130. Are you sure you're downloading and installing the correct OS from Alltel?

I was just following a tutorial I found on google for downgrading. Didn't realize that would cause it not to show up on there. And yeah it's actually a 8330 I'm working on now. The 8130 was my old phone.

Make sure you've uninstalled OS 4.5 from your machine as well.

And please update your profile.

Ok heres what I did. I uninstalled and reinstalled 4.3 so I would still have Vendor.mxl. Made sure 4.5 was gone. Still no luck though. I also read somewhere that temporary files may be an issue, so I cleared out my temp folder on my pc. And as I was attempting the loader again I had the temp folder opened and noticed that a new text file named "Loader-(2009-11-17)" appeared. Is this significant?
