Default Which version of OS??

first off sorry if this is a silly question but this is my wife's phone so I know nill about it.

It is a 8330 curve with a PIN so I assume I need the ESN version...
what is the 8330 vs 8330m?

Not sure which OS to put on her phone. Current OS is the one that shipped with it in Sept 08

You can go to the Options|about to find your exact phone model. Then you can select that phone from the device listing on this forum and then check the sticky post at the top of that forum download the OS upgrade and follow the instructions to do the upgrade.

top line says...

"BlackeBerry 8330" so I assume that is the version I want and NOT the one with "m" at the end.

I will have to check again when I get home but I don't recall seeing "ESN" on the status screen. I did see "PIN" which leads me to believe it is an ESN phone

It's crazy. I did a search for ESN vs MEID and no threads came up
