Bluetooth pairing

when trying to pair my BB8330 to my laptop I get a "No available com ports error in the wizard, it connects just fine as a headset but will not let me find my phone when configuring blutooth in the desktop manager software.

Help please

Is this a work laptop, or a personal one? Wondering if there some work-imposed restrictions in place. I know we can't fire up Bluetooth on our work machines at my place of employment.
