Default Blackberry 8330 Stuck In Phonebook

Please Login to Remove!

Today, after sending an email on my Blackberry 8330, my device became unusable. Whatever icon I click on takes me to the Phonebook. I have done several battery pulls, to no avail.
I have attempted several times to use Backup and Restore through Desktop Manager, each time gettng a message that the process has failed.
Are there any other options here to get my device back on track?

See what others say. I suspect your next step is to try and wipe with JL_CMDER and reinstall the OS.

Very odd..

Try using the advanced feature of backup/restore and clear your address book, could be a corrupt DB, do you have a backup somewhere?

I ended up wiping it and reinstalling the software. Unfortunately, no change. I'm thinking it must be a hardware issue of some kind, but darned if I know what.

Weird, doesn't sound like a Hardware issue.

How did you wipe the device?

Normal wipe or with JL_CMDer? (I would try this and remove all your 3rd party apps)

No moisture and did use JL_CMDer for the wipe. I ended up taking it in to a Verizon service center today - they think it's the sensor underneath the trackball. They're replacing it.
