Default How to send out single text message to several devices?

Please Login to Remove!

hi folks;

first post; i have just purchased an 8330 Curve. The store transferred my address book from my ancient flip-phone into the 8330. i now want to create a text message and send it to a group of folks on my address book.

then i want to save that text message, or save that group of folks, so that i can send future text messages to the same group.

sadly to say, i'm finding this rough going, both searching through the CD, the software on the phone, or this forum. [like i said, first post. apologies if the answer is obvious and i've missed it.]

finally, while i've been reading and looking, i still can't find the screen that tells me what software version my 8330 is currently using.

Welcome to the forums, Steve.

It would be easiest to create a group in your device.

Go to you Address Book > Menu key > New Group.
Name the Group SMS Group (or whatever you want)
Press the Menu Key and select Add Memeber
Select the contact you want in the group
Repeat that step as often as you like until all contacts are in the group.

Then when you send your next SMS out, just send it to SMS Group and the text will go to each contact in that group.

I would recommend reading over these forums and checking out BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ for more tips on your device.

To get your software version.
Go to Options > About. ... or
Press Alt + Caps + H ... or
Compose a message and type myver
