Default Curve lagging/calendar alerts malfunctioning/misbehaving

I'm having a lot of general performance issues w/ my Curve (8330) lately. First, it's gotten very slow - I see the spinny hourglass a lot, and it's not very responsive (lagging) when I navigate around the device/select things. A battery pull helps, but only for about a day before it starts acting up again. I feel like it's a bit ridiculous to have to pull the battery out daily just to keep up a baseline level of performance. I really don't have a lot of "stuff" on the device - only 4 outside apps (facebook, uber twitter, a sudoku game, and flashcards), no music, some photos on the media card. Not an excessive amount of email.

Second, sometimes my calendar alerts don't pop up (and sometimes they do - no pattern). If I do a battery pull, they'll pop up all at once. It's not my settings - sometimes the device just arbitrarily won't display a calendar alert, or won't play the audible notification.

Any suggestions?

How much free memory do you have? Options / Status will tell you. Less than 12mb will result in serious operational issues.

I have about 15 MB free. I'll try to free up a bit more and see if it helps - not sure why I have so little memory when I don't really have much on my phone.
