i dont get any smiley faces or frowny faces or whatever in my text messeges.....they just show up as written text.....am i missing a setting or something?

Nope. SMS is pure text. Some devices will "translate" that combination of text characters to smile for frown for you, but not your device or OS release.

This is true. Kinda stinks, but its already here. OS5 has this built in with threaded sms as well. Very cool
