Default Help i want to uninstall WLM from curve 8310

Please Login to Remove!

I bought an unlocked curve 8310, i installed WLM, but it won't work cos i do not have BB data plan.

I have tried to uninstall it by going to option>Advanced option>applications.
but i cannot find WLM in this location, so unable to delete it.

I connected the BB to the desktop manager, but WLM is not visitble on application loader.
Any idea how to get rid of this???????
I have unlimited internet plan with my network, virgin UK, any IM apps that can work without BB data plan please?

cheers

Battery pull.

And no, you need the blackberry data plan, as they all use data.

If it isn't under applications, its not installed.
It will be an icon, possibly pushed by your carrier to download it.
You cant delete, only hide.

It alsmost sounds like the app was uninstalled but left a stray module behind. Is that a possibility?

Take a look at options > advanced options > applications > menu > modules and see if that's the case.

Did you check to see if there is a module?

You say you can't remove it, yet neither the blackberry or apploader show it as installed. I assume what you see is the application icon on your applications screen. This suggests to me that a module is still there.

I linked to the permalink to my post, not to the thread. Did you checkout what I suggested?

Maybe. Do a backup, just in case, before you delete.

But first, just to be clear, you say you installed WLM, and then went to options > advanced options > applications, and didn't find the application listed? And yet you have the application icon on your applications screen? And it is the application and not a simple download/shortcut link?

My advice is for now just hide the icon and forget about it.

I finally got it deleted today.
I went to: options > advanced options > applications > blackberry core applications> modules. found this (net_rim_bb_qm_msn) and deleted it, restarted the handset and the icon disappeared.
